The TRUTH seeking culture of the Tamils.

In this video, Sivakumar explains how the TRUTH seeking culture of the Tamils has been in existence and recorded since the Sangam age with its beginnings in Sumeria. He explains how the beginning of modern day practice of 'viva' for masters and PhD candidates today can be found during the sangam age. The recorded history of viva in the Tamil culture can be traced during the presentation of 'Tolkaapiyam' by Tolkaapiyar dated around 6 th century BC which could be the first recorded viva in the whole of human history. During sangam age days, 'viva' sessions did not end in an hour or two with only a few selected experts in the particular field asking questions but goes on for a few days with an open concept. There used to be 'open viva session' presentations in the attendance of scholars, where any scholar who is interested in the subject are free to attend and ask any question in relation to the subject that is presented. In addition to this presentation to scholars, there will be another presentation where the public will be allowed to ask questions to the presenter. It was such a thorough session, where the culture was only 'AXIOMATIC TRUTHS' are accepted. Anything else is rejected.
