Taxonomy of Bloom and Tolkaapiyar - A Brief Comparision

In this video, probably for the first time in history, Sivakumar explains the pedagogic taxonomy of Tolkaapiyar, circ 6 th century BC and gives a brief comparison between Tolkaapiyar's taxonomy which has remained unknown even among Tamils of its existence and the taxonomy of Bloom which is known worldwide and widely used among the educationists all over the world.

According to Sivakumar, objectively speaking, the taxonomy of Tolkaapiyar is much more complete than that of Bloom.

Isn't it a mystery that a pedagogic taxonomy of such high standard has remained unknown even among the Tamils for such a long time? If not for Sivakumar's re-discovery of the existence of this taxonomy, it would have remained unknown until someone else rediscovers it.

The Tamils in particular should delve deeper into the discoveries of their forefathers and make a comparison between the discoveries of the west and the ancient Tamils, in particular with regards to hermeneutic science.  The academic culture that was the norm among the Tamils centuries ago, especially during the sangam era should be revived back.

The Tamils, in particular in Tamilnadu should spend more time in researching and understanding the ancient Tamil texts and not spend valuable time in idolizing the personalities of the cinema world and politicians.
